Turning AI uncertainty into AI advantage

This new open programme provides senior executives with the skills to confidently lead their teams through periods of AI-driven technological change. Delivered in partnership with Trinity College Dublin, the two-day immersive workshop helps technical team leaders to understand the transformative potential of AI, as well as the associated data protection, privacy and governance risks. The programme is available to applicants from any industry or sector, with programme organisers seeking a diverse range of applicants to ensure cross-pollination of ideas through peer-to-peer learning.

What you and your organisation gain

Senior leaders will leave the Leading AI Strategy programme with an understanding of how to leverage AI technology to achieve their business goals. Led by senior faculty members at Trinity College Dublin, workshops will help participants to:

Identify practical tools to enhance their internal processes and workflows and grow their organisation. 

Develop frameworks for scaling AI implementation and compliance, with a particular focus on compliance and other governance issues related to the AI rollout. 

Build knowledge, confidence and capability skills which will help their business remain competitive in a rapidly changing market.

Structure and who should attend

  1. Onboarding

    Your virtual onboarding session takes place on Monday, October 19th

  2. Modules

    The four modules take place on Thursday 22nd and Friday 23rd October at Trinity College Dublin Business School.

  3. Impact Session

    Virtual session a few weeks after the end of the programme to check in and discuss programme impact for you and your organisation.

 

Places are reserved for senior-level managers in software and systems engineering, site reliability engineering, cybersecurity, and product. 

Through immersive, expert-led workshops, and peer-to-peer learning, participants will improve their AI literacy and emerge with new capabilities to lead technical teams and make effective strategic decisions.

What you'll cover

Module 1
AI Leadership Essentials - Capabilities, Applications, and Impact
4 hours

This session lays the foundations for all subsequent modules by providing participants with an understanding of core AI concepts and capabilities.

Module 2
AI in Action - Embedding, Expanding, and Governing AI Solutions
4 hours

In this module, executives learn how to apply AI in practice. They explore practical tools and frameworks and discuss real-world examples that demonstrate how AI can be embedded into organisational processes and workflows. 

Module 3
Responsible AI, Risk Management, Governance & Strategic Implementation
4 hours

This session will help participants identify valuable use cases for AI implementation across their organisation. It will also provide managers with a detailed outline of the ethical and governance risks, in terms of privacy and data protection regulations, that accompany the rollout of the technology.

Module 4
Building a Human-centric AI-Ready Organisation - Strategy, Workforce, Execution, and Future Trends
4 hours

The final module focuses on developing the culture and organisational capability required to scale AI effectively. It also teaches participants the importance of good leadership in ensuring the successful adoption of AI across their organisations.

Funding Eligibility

Participants must be resident in the Republic of Ireland.

Participants must be employed by a private company registered in the Republic of Ireland.

Participants must be working in a Product Management or adjacent role, for example: Product Marketing, Product Owner, Engineering Manager, UX/Design, Data Analytics, or Technical Programme Management.

Who should apply?

The programme is for senior-level managers in software and systems engineering, site reliability engineering, cybersecurity, and product. It is available to applicants from across any industry. Senior managers apply to the programme to address a capability need, such as a shortcoming in AI strategy, difficulties leading technical teams, or developing a roadmap for decision-making.

Do I need previous experience or technical knowledge to take part?

No, you do not need previous experience or technical knowledge of AI to take part. However, applicants should have a minimum 2.2 honours undergraduate degree, a master’s degree, or extensive professional experience in a technical field. 

How much time will I need to commit to the programme, including virtual sessions?

The schedule requires participants to take part in one preliminary virtual session lasting 90 minutes, two in-person workshops on campus at Trinity College Dublin from 9am-5pm each day, and another hour-long virtual session at the end of the programme.

What will I be able to do differently in my organisation after completing the programme?

You will leave the programme with greater confidence in identifying where AI can add real value within your organisation and how to move from experimentation to strategic implementation. You will be better equipped to assess potential AI use cases, select appropriate tools and frameworks, manage governance, ethical and data protection risks, and lead your teams through the organisational and cultural changes required to adopt AI effectively at scale.

Who can join the Digital Skillnet Network?

Network membership is free for private sector and commercial semi-state companies based in the Republic of Ireland.

Once registered, eligible member companies can access Digital Skillnet part-funded programmes, helping reduce the cost of training and making upskilling more accessible across your organisation.

What are the aims of the Digital Skillnet Network?

The aim of the network is:

  • To support software and digital technology companies to remain at the cutting edge of skills and knowledge.   

  • To enable companies to gain access to staff training and development programmes which are aligned to  their current needs.

  • To work with educational bodies in strategic partnerships to develop new educational solutions to meet new software sector needs.

  • To provide funding support for staff training thereby lowering training costs for companies.

  • To extend up-skilling opportunities to more employees and companies across the sector.

How can a training provider join Digital Skillnet's roster?

As training requirements arise, the network invites suitable trainers to quote or tender for the delivery of each programme.

Where does Technology Ireland Digital Skillnet funding come from?

Technology Ireland DIGITAL Skillnet receives funding on an annual basis under the Training Networks Programme from Skillnet Ireland, the enterprise-led training agency. This allows the network to provide courses at a lower cost than commercial training courses – while still being delivered by the highest quality experts and trainers.

Over the last 3 years the Digital Skillnet has been awarded subsidies in excess of €2 million to support companies by significantly lowering the cost, and increasing the effectiveness of, organisational development strategies. The specific levels of subsidy for companies are allocated on a course-by-course basis.

What is Technology Ireland Digital Skillnet?

Established in 2010, Technology Ireland Digital Skillnet (“Digital Skillnet”) is the national training network for Ireland's Digital Technology sector. Our mission is to enable workforce development, performance and competitiveness for companies and their workforce through innovative upskilling solutions, backed by government funding. We support companies in all sectors to accelerate digital capacity, transformation and strategic innovation.

Member companies include a combination of indigenous organisations and multinational foreign direct investment (FDI) firms.

The Network Sponsor is Technology Ireland, a federation within Ibec, the Irish Business and Employers Confederation (www.ibec.ie). Our upskilling initiatives are co-funded by the Government of Ireland, the European Union through the European Social Fund ESF+ and Network Companies. 

How can Digital Skillnet help companies to fund their training needs?

Technology Ireland Digital Skillnet receives government funding. This allow us to provide support on course fees so that companies incur lower costs than commercial training courses. 

Through the network, we also use our combined buying power to achieve the best training rates from providers.

Subsidised fees for network members are shown on our training schedule. These are the costs after funding support from the network.
Typical savings of 40-60% for companies through DIGITAL Skillnet 

To access subsisidised course fees companies can join the network. Network membership is free and is open to all enterprises in the Republic of Ireland.
